| Members of the Secretary Volunteer Fire Company recently joined forces with our mutual aid partners from the Hurlock Volunteer Fire Company for an evening of hands-on training focused on ladder operations and truck company skills.
The joint training provided firefighters with the opportunity to strengthen essential operational skills while working together in a realistic training environment. Exercises included ladder deployment, positioning, and coordinated truck company operations—critical skills that help ensure safe and effective emergency response.
The evening was especially meaningful for several of our cadet members, who are preparing to begin Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute (MFRI) Firefighter I this month. Having the opportunity to gain practical experience alongside seasoned firefighters before entering the academy gives them a strong foundation and increased confidence as they begin their fire service careers.
Training alongside neighboring departments is an important part of maintaining strong mutual aid relationships. By learning together, we improve communication, build trust, and ensure that when emergencies occur, we are prepared to operate seamlessly as one team.
Secretary Volunteer Fire Company extends a sincere thank you to the members of Hurlock Volunteer Fire Company for bringing their tower apparatus and sharing their knowledge and experience with our members. Their commitment to regional training and firefighter development is greatly appreciated.
As always, we remain committed to investing in our members, preparing the next generation of firefighters, and providing the highest level of service to the communities we proudly protect.
One Community. One Team. One Mission. 🚒🔥 |
