| Just moments after returning from a structure fire on Cabin Ridge Road in Hurlock, the Secretary Volunteer Fire Company (SVFC) was once again dispatched on Monday afternoon. At approximately 2:16pm, SVFC units were alerted for a rescue local box at the Secretary Post Office following reports of a vehicle into the building.
Upon arrival, Rescue Engine 16-1 and additional personnel found a vehicle that had collided with the side door of the post office, causing minor structural damage. The crew immediately worked to secure both the vehicle and the building to prevent further hazards.
In addition to stabilizing the scene, firefighters provided traffic control to ensure the safety of bystanders and allow room for emergency operations. Two patients involved in the incident were transported to local hospitals for further evaluation by Dorchester County EMS. |
